Replacing the Air Filter on the Nissan Qashqai

To ensure the engine breathes properly and to keep fuel consumption down, replace the air filter as per the maintenance schedule, or sooner if driving on particularly dusty roads. Open the bonnet and remove the intake duct section from the filter box, disconnect the two retaining springs on either side of the box, and take off the cover. You can now remove the old filter element and replace it with a new one, ensuring the edge fits snugly in place. Refit the cover and secure it with the springs, then position the intake duct back in its housing.
