How to Adjust the Handbrake on a Nissan Micra

Is the handbrake on your car loose when you pull it? Learn how to adjust the handbrake on a Nissan Micra. To start: pull the handbrake fully upwards until all clicks are engaged, so you can unscrew or screw the nut located under the plastic lever of the handbrake as shown in the video. Screw in if you want to increase the stiffness of the handbrake lever, and unscrew if you want the opposite. Always test until you achieve the desired intermediate stiffness. If the handbrake lever does not provide the correct stiffness, it may be necessary to replace the brake pads or the cable. An ideal middle position for the lever is four clicks.
