In this video we can see how to activate the service mode of the handbrake of the Opel/Vauxhall Astra K, as it is necessary to retract the calipers in order to replace the rear brakes: first of all, we turn on the instrument panel, then we put the gear in "neutral" and press the brake pedal all the way down, then we press and hold the handbrake button until the service mode message appears on the display and at the same time the handbrake light starts flashing. We can release the button, we hear the calipers retracting and the service mode light illuminates. To return them to their original position, just press the button again.
