Disassembling the Key for an Opel Meriva and Replacing the Buttons

Model: Vauxhall Meriva Meriva A, MK 1 - Years 2003-2010

To replace the buttons on the remote, first separate the part with the buttons from the part with the key for starting the car. Now, using a screwdriver, pry open the 2 tabs to separate the two parts, one with the buttons and one with the battery. Take the part with the buttons and, using the screwdriver, disassemble it into two further parts. Now you will have one part with the buttons (which you will replace) and one part with the circuit that operates the buttons. In the part with the battery, take a tab from the old battery compartment and insert it into the new one. Now, all that’s left is to reassemble and ensure the tabs are securely fitted, and you will have your remote looking like new. Opel Corsa, Opel Astra, Opel Meriva, year 2004/2005.
