Opel Grandland: how to replace the interior reading light bulb DIY

To change the reading light bulb on the Opel Grandland, work on the front ceiling light unit above the rear-view mirror. Before starting, it is advisable to turn off the lights and work with thin gloves to avoid leaving fingerprints on the lens and bulb. Sit in the front seat and locate the plastic lens covering the two reading lights: the lower edge is the leverage point. Using a small flat screwdriver or a plastic lever, gently insert the tip between the lens and the frame, starting from one side. By levering downwards, the cover will disengage from the internal clips and can be fully removed. At this point, the chrome reflectors and the bulb mounted at the centre are clearly visible. To remove the bulb, grasp it by the ends and pull it out from the two metal supports: if it has been on recently, wait a moment to avoid burns. Take the new bulb with the same specifications as the original and insert it into the same fittings, pushing gently until it is securely in place between the contacts. Before closing the light unit, check its correct operation by pressing the reading light switch: if the bulb lights up, you can proceed with reassembly. To close, reposition the transparent lens starting from the upper clips and press along the edge until all the tabs click into place. The replacement of the interior reading light bulb on the Opel Grandland is thus completed without the need to dismantle the entire light unit.
