How to change the gear knob of an Opel Insignia? In this video, see how to proceed with the removal. Disconnect the leather gaiter frame using a plastic lever, take the knob in your hands and rotate it left and right until you remove it from the gear stick (cut the metal clip if present). To install, proceed in reverse. Take the new knob and slide it onto the stick in the centre console along with the gaiter, tighten it onto the stick; fit the new leather gaiter with the clips. Finally, test the correct fitting of the knob with the movement of the stick on the centre console.
