Replacement of Front Brake Discs

Model: Vauxhall Meriva Meriva A, MK 1 - Years 2003-2010

Lift the vehicle with a jack and remove the front wheel (loosen the nuts before lifting the wheel off the ground); then remove the brake caliper bracket and the fixing bolt of the disc to detach it from the hub. Clean the new disc with solvent to remove any oil residues; then position it on the hub aligning the holes with the threaded hole of the fixing bolt, which must be tightened securely. Finally, remount the complete brake caliper bracket: it is advisable to also replace the brake pads, as even if they are not completely worn, they have already taken the shape of the old disc and braking may be ineffective until the pads reshape to the profile of the new disc.
