Replacing the Starter Motor on an Opel Astra

Remove the starter motor if damaged. Open and lift the front bonnet, then disconnect the battery terminals.

Remove the battery and its tray. Locate the starter motor and disconnect the electrical terminals.

Use a socket spanner to undo the securing bolts of the starter motor and remove it from the engine bay. Install the new starter motor, connecting the power cables and securing it with the associated bolts. Refit the battery tray with the battery.
