How to Remove the Gear Knob of an Opel Astra

Before starting, sit in the driver's seat of your Opel Astra. Begin by unclipping and removing the ashtray compartment, then disconnect the electrical connector of the cigarette lighter, followed by unclipping and removing the cover between the handbrake and the gear knob gaiter frame.

Next, unclip and remove the gear knob gaiter itself. At this point, unclip the clips that secure the gear knob to the gear lever.

Once you have completed this step, you can remove the gear knob itself, finishing the disassembly.
