In this video we see how to change the cigarette lighter socket of an Opel Astra G to a USB socket: first of all we find the USB socket that we can find on AliExpress with the code 1005004177871239 at a price of 6.00 euros, shipping 0.50 euros. We remove the ashtray by unscrewing the two screws we find internally and remove the electrical connector connected to the cigarette lighter. With a needle-nose pliers we remove the inner part of the cigarette lighter from the ashtray, so that we can put the USB socket in its place, which will probably be a bit larger than the hole, and therefore we will have to widen it with a grinder. We place the socket in its place, lock it and then make the electrical connections as shown by the youtuber (a bit too quickly to be honest) we put the ashtray back in place and screw the screws back in. Operation completed.
