In this video, we will see how to change the cigarette lighter socket of an Opel Astra G to a USB socket: first, find the USB socket which can be found on AliExpress with the code 1005004177871239 for £6.00, shipping £0.50. Remove the ashtray by unscrewing the two screws found inside and disconnect the electrical connector attached to the cigarette lighter. Using a pair of pliers, remove the internal part of the cigarette lighter from the ashtray so that you can place the USB socket in its place, which will likely be slightly larger than the hole, so you will need to enlarge it with a grinder. Place the socket in position, secure it, and then make the electrical connections as shown by the YouTuber (a bit too quickly, to be honest), replace the ashtray, and screw the screws back in. Task completed.
