How to Install a Higher Performance Air Filter

Here is a video to understand how to change the air filter configuration. In this specific case, the filter is broken and completely empty as seen in the images. This kit allows you to fit the filter for the 1.9 CDTI model and at the same time have a more direct airflow towards the turbo. Examining the kit contents, we find: the filter box, the pipe, the hoses, and the clips. Remove the filter and all hoses including the sensor connector. Now start by mounting the filter support with the relevant anti-vibration rubber mounts and the filter box. Due to the different position, you will need to cut the sensor connector and extend the wires by a few centimetres, soldering them and protecting the joints with heat-shrink tubing. Then install the oil breather pipe and the relevant hoses, securing them with the clips. Reconnect the sensor and you're done. Car model: Opel Astra.
