To replace the crankshaft pulley on an Opel Astra, lift the car so you can remove the front right wheel and the inner cover of the wheel arch. This will allow access to the components underneath, including the crankshaft pulley: this can be removed by loosening the nut that secures the central pin, also freeing it from the timing belt. You can then install a new spare part and subsequently remount the inner cover of the wheel arch and the wheel itself.
