In this tutorial, see how to replace the automatic gear knob on an Opel Insignia, a very simple and quick operation. Start by unclipping the base of the gaiter from the centre console, then pull it completely upwards and cut the plastic tie at the base of the knob. Once done, grip the knob, rotate it in both directions, and simultaneously pull it towards you until it completely unclips from the shaft. Finally, fit the replacement, secure the gaiter with a new tie, and clip the base back onto the console.
