Here’s how to replace the cabin filter on an Opel Astra G, which is located behind the glove compartment that needs to be emptied and removed. To remove it, unscrew the two screws at the base of the glove compartment, and then the three that hold it in place at the top, under the hinge. You will need to disconnect the electrical connector for the courtesy light in the glove compartment. The cabin filter is secured by two screws, which should be unscrewed using a 7mm socket. Remove the cover and extract the filter to be replaced. Use compressed air to clean the area where the new filter will be installed. Refit the new filter, ensuring it is installed in the correct orientation. The arrows must point downwards. Close the cover and reassemble the glove compartment. Task completed.
