How to Replace the Timing Chain on an Opel Corsa

The procedure for replacing the timing chain is quite complex; here are the main steps to follow. Start by removing the battery, the coolant reservoir, and the front right wheel. Then locate the auxiliary belt and loosen it by removing a pulley. Next, remove the water pump and, importantly, lock the relative motion of the camshaft and crankshaft in relation to the engine block to maintain the correct timing. Remove the oil sump and also lock any movement of the flywheel. Next, remove the timing chain cover and take off the tensioners. At this point, you can remove the chain and install the new one. Proceed to reassemble all components in reverse order.
