To replace the tailgate lock on the Opel Insignia, open the tailgate to access the screws securing the inner panel: once all screws are loosened, you can completely detach the panel to expose the tailgate lock. This can be removed from its housing by unscrewing the fixing screws and disconnecting the appropriate cables; this will allow you to insert the new lock and check that everything functions correctly.
