Today, you will learn how to open the rear tailgate of a Vauxhall Corsa from inside. The first step is to enter the vehicle and fold down the rear seats to access the boot.

With the seats down, you can see the emergency release cap located in the centre of the tailgate. This cap is designed to unlock the lock from the inside.

Once the cap is removed, use a plastic lever to operate the mechanism by pulling it upwards. This will allow you to open the tailgate in an emergency.

The causes of the lock being stuck can vary from a broken lock to faulty wiring. You will need to remove the tailgate panel to diagnose the issue.
