In this video, we will explore the issue affecting Opel Astra H models with the twintop, which is the automatic folding hardtop. This type of roof opens and closes automatically in a very dramatic fashion, but unfortunately, the complex mechanism often jams and malfunctions. Especially when reopening the roof for the first time after summer, the wires on the hinge of the bonnet are the first suspects for malfunction: these are the four thin wires that run from the main harness down to the motor. As they remain bent over the winter, they can fray or break, causing the hardtop to fail.
