In this video, we see what could be the problem affecting Opel Astra version H cars that have the twintop, which is the automatic retractable roof. It is a type of roof with a hardtop that opens and closes automatically in a very choreographed manner, but unfortunately, it often happens that the rather complex mechanism gets jammed and malfunctions. Especially when opening the roof for the first time after the summer break, the wires on the hood pillar are the first suspects of malfunction: they are the four rather thin wires that descend from the main harness towards the motor. Since they remain bent over themselves throughout the winter, they peel or break, and therefore the hardtop does not work.
