Vauxhall Astra - Video tutorial
Model: Vauxhall Astra
Astra J
- Years 2009-2016 In this video we see how to change the oil on an Opel Astra version J: of course we will also see how to change the corresponding filter. So let's open the hood and open the oil filler caps; it is advisable to add a pre-change detergent to the oil, so that it can clean the tank well. There are many excellent products on the market. For example on Amazon you can find Motul with code B07HYC8LGL at a price of 15.07 euros, free delivery. Let's run the engine for 5 minutes and then add the additive and let it run for 10/15 minutes with the engine at idle. Then we raise the front of the car and support it on the stands, then we access the oil pan bolt - which will come out suddenly, so we must be quick with the container in which to collect the oil, which we will then dispose of at an authorized center - that we will already have new ready. The filter will also drain oil, so we must equip ourselves with a container, or use the previous one. Unlock the oil filter, detach the cartridge from the flange and remove the gasket, then clean the flange with brake cleaner. Put the new gasket in place by greasing it with new oil, insert the filter well into the flange and put it in place by tightening it by hand at the beginning. Close it well. Now we go underneath and put a new cap on the oil pan, without tightening it to death. Lower the car from the stand, then put the oil back in the tank. Your Astra J 1.4 contains 4 liters of oil (unless it has 64Kw, then 3.75 liters are enough, and 3.5 liters for the 1.3). Fill it up to 90%, and leave it on for 30 seconds to fill the oil filter. Remove the oil dipstick and clean it. Put it back in and check the oil level. It is recommended not to exceed the maximum level.

Frequently Asked QuestionsHow do you adjust the clutch cable on the Kia Picanto? To be able to adjust the clutch cable of the Kia Picanto you need to open the hood so that you have access to the components inside the engine compartment: in order to reach the cable you will need to remove some components on the right side, such as the battery and the air filter. Below them you will find the clutch cable, which will have to be adjusted by screwing or loosening the bolt placed at the end of the cable. This will make the pedal harder or softer; after the adjustment, it will be possible to assemble all the components by closing the hood. by ScegliAuto More videos
