How to change the diesel filter in the Peugeot 308

To replace the diesel filter on the Peugeot 308, work with the engine off and cold, with the car safely positioned and the hood open. Before starting, clear access to the filter area by creating space in the engine compartment, moving or disconnecting the intake duct and any covers that prevent easy access to the filter assembly. Locate the diesel filter body and carefully disconnect the electrical connectors and the quick-release fittings of the pipes, being careful not to pull the wires or force the fittings. Keep a container handy as residual diesel may come out. Once freed, remove the filter assembly and place it on a work surface or manage it over a container, then open the filter body to access the filtering element. Replace the filter and, if present, also change the seals/O-rings of the cover or housing, repositioning them correctly to avoid air intake or leaks. Close the filter body and reinstall it in the engine compartment, restoring all connections exactly as they were: pipes properly fitted to the end stop and connectors correctly engaged. After reassembly, check that there are no hoses under tension or bent. If the system requires priming, do so according to the car's configuration and check for any diesel leaks. Start the engine and let it idle for a final check, then recheck the filter area to ensure everything is dry and stable.
