Removal, Repair and Reinstallation of the Headlining on a Peugeot 308 CC

To remove, repair and reinstall the headlining on a Peugeot 308 CC, start by opening the roof halfway and unfastening the front joint along its entire length. Remove the clips from the headlining, push it outwards and lower it, remembering to disconnect the central light. Once removed, take off the side and central plastics (with clips) and detach the old fabric with a cutter, scraping away any glue residue. Clean the surface thoroughly with a brush and vacuum, then with acetone to remove any remaining traces; areas with extra strong glue should be scraped with a blade and finally sanded to smooth. Apply contact adhesive (heat-resistant) to both the new fabric (which can be found on eBay with code 262106738054 for £25.50 for a 2x1.5 m cut, available in various colours) and the backing, joining the two layers by applying pressure from the inside out. After gluing, cut the fabric leaving a margin for the folds, finish the edges and reopen the holes for the handles and light with a cutter. Reinstall the plastics, securing them with high-temperature hot glue. For reassembly in the car, lift the front joint, position the headlining aligning the black clips, bring the joint flush and reattach the clips at the front. The result is a perfectly taut and finished headlining.
