How to Release the Handbrake on Peugeot 3008

Model: Peugeot 3008 MK 2, P84 - Years 2016-2023

Let’s see how to deactivate the automatic mode of the handbrake on the Peugeot 3008: start the engine and engage the handbrake by pulling the lever if it is not already engaged. Fully release the brake pedal, then hold the lever down (release) for 10 to 15 seconds. Release the lever, then press and hold the brake pedal. Pull the lever up (engage) for 2 seconds. Release both the lever and the brake pedal. A light will illuminate on the dashboard confirming the deactivation of the automatic functions. From this point, the handbrake will only engage and disengage manually (no longer automatically when the engine is turned off). To reactivate it, repeat the exact same procedure. The light will turn off and everything will return to normal.
