Repairing the Light Switch of the Peugeot 206

To replace the light switch, proceed as follows: use a flathead screwdriver to remove the onboard computer control located at the end of the light switch stalk. Be careful not to lose the return spring located underneath. Take a pair of needle-nose pliers and detach the light control ring, again being cautious not to lose the spring inside. Lift the plastic cross profile with a small screwdriver and detach it with the pliers. Underneath, there is a small spring that is responsible for switching the electrical contacts and closing the various headlight ignition circuits. If the electrical contacts are damaged, there will be a current leak that protects the entire system, causing the horn and indicators to stop working. These contacts cannot be repaired, so the entire stalk assembly will need to be replaced. To remove the entire stalk, open the clips located at the base of the stalk all around the complete assembly using a flathead screwdriver. Once the central assembly is open, detach the two connectors from the electronic board and mark the orientation of insertion with a marker. At this point, you can extract the stalk. Take the new stalk and reposition it, ensuring the positioning of the sliders in their respective housings. Finally, reassemble the various components in reverse order, paying attention to the reassembly of the return springs for the various controls.
