When to change the timing belt on the Peugeot 2008

Its role is to transmit motion from the crankshaft to the camshafts, also controlling the oil and water pumps. It is essential for the proper functioning of the engine that the timing is maintained, which is the primary task of the timing belt. This is mainly why, if the belt breaks, irreparable damage can occur to valves, pistons, and conrods. For timing belt replacement intervals, always refer to the vehicle's user and maintenance manual. For PSA 1.6 HDi engines, replacement is recommended every 93,000 miles or 10 years.
