Peugeot 2008 - Video tutorial
Model: Peugeot 2008
MK 1
- Years 2013-2019 After covering the recommended kilometers by the manufacturer, usually 80,000 km, it is necessary to replace the timing belt. Today specifically we will see how to replace the timing belt and pulleys of a Peugeot 2008. The first steps to follow are to open the front hood, remove the front wheel on the passenger side and lift the car on a scaffolding. The second step is to "relax" the belt by lifting the tensioner, to do this we use a 13 mm wrench or a 13 mm elbow wrench, then we remove the belt. The third step consists in removing the tensioner, to do this we use an 8 mm hex key to unscrew the screws and remove it. The fourth step is to install the new tensioner and the timing belt. To put the belt back in place, lift the tensioner to pass it through all the pulleys, then release the tensioner. We conclude by reassembling the wheel, lowering the car to the ground and closing the hood.
