Replacing the Rear Shock Absorbers of the Peugeot 308 MK1

To replace the rear shock absorbers of the Peugeot 308, lift the rear wheel with a jack and insert a jack stand, remove the wheel and place it under the car. Spray some penetrating oil on the lower shock absorber bolt and unscrew it, then unscrew the two bolts of the upper mount and remove the shock absorber.

Take the new shock absorber, prime it by pressing the rod vertically, fit the dust cover and the mount, securing it with its nut using two spanners and finishing with a torque wrench.

Install the new assembly starting with the two upper nuts, which you will finish tightening with the torque wrench. Insert the bolt into the lower mount, lift it with a jack and finish tightening with the torque wrench.

Refit the wheel, lower the car and repeat the operation on the other side.
