To replace the shift knob on a Dodge RAM 2500, you need to detach the circular cover that indicates the gear positions, located at the top of the knob. Once this cover is removed, you can unscrew the nut that secures the bolt underneath. After the nut is loosened, you can slide the knob off the top of the shift lever to replace it with a new part. After replacement, you can screw the nut around the bolt and cover it with the circular cap.
