How to Replace the Fuel Filter on a Ram 3500 [USA]

Model: RAM 3500 MK 5, DT - Years 2019-2026

Position the vehicle on the lift. The fuel filter is located approximately in the center of the chassis above the transmission. Using a socket wrench, loosen the nut on the side of the filter to drain the fuel and wait a few seconds for it to empty completely. With a socket wrench, remove the cap located under the filter and take it out. There is an O-ring on the cap that needs to be replaced. Remove the old filter and replace it with the new one, inserting it into the cap while applying some pressure. Insert the filter and cap into the housing. Screw the cap in by hand first, then tighten it with the socket wrench.
