In this video, learn how to easily repair the boot spring of the Renault Megane IV. As we can see, the spring has loosened and the tailgate no longer holds, so you need to remove the band that contains the spring. This is a fairly simple operation, as it is a single piece, inserted under pressure.

Turn it over and you will see that the issue is poor retention of the plastics that hold the metal part of the spring: evidently, use has slightly widened them, creating some play that prevents a perfect fit. However, you can try heating the plastics with a common hairdryer to bend them inwards and improve the fit. Then, simply refit the springs and the fit will return to what it was before.

Refit the band in its place and the job is done.
