How to repair the trunk spring of a Renault Megane IV

In this video we see how to easily repair the trunk spring of the Renault Megane IV: as we can see, the spring has loosened and the tailgate no longer holds, so we need to remove the strip that contains the spring. It is a fairly simple operation, because it is a single piece, inserted under pressure. We turn it over and see that it is a problem of poor sealing of the plastics that hold the metal part of the spring: apparently the use has slightly widened them, creating some play that prevents a perfect seal. However, we can try to heat - with a common hairdryer - the plastics to bend them inwards and improve the seal. Then just reassemble the springs and the seal will be as good as new. We reassemble the strip in its place and the job is done.
