How to Install a Rear Camera on Renault Clio IV

Model: Renault Clio Clio IV, MK 4, Clio 4 - Years 2012-2019

The Renault Clio IV does not have a rear camera function natively: it needs to be activated via the MediaNav system. Go to Menu/Settings and enter 'test' mode by typing the code 8005 + OK, then delete it; now type the code 3638 + OK and you are in the test menu. Look for and activate the 'RBC' or 'RC' option; it may not activate immediately, it could take a day. Now you need to make the connections: you will need the yellow cable (video) on pin 25 of the MediaNav connector; the red for 12V power (reverse light from the rear lamp); black (ground to the screw near the lamp). The MediaNav connector is located behind the central panel of the car and the connector (which can be 26 or 40 pin) is behind the display. We are interested in pin 25 (the video one). The camera mounts to the number plate holder. Run the cable from the boot to the cabin through the original wiring passage (between the boot and the body); along the left side, remove the side panels or the edge of the floor and hide it under the carpet or trim. Connect the video cable to pin 25 and the power to the reverse light. Check that when you engage reverse, the MediaNav displays the image from the rear camera. If it doesn't work, wait until the next day: it's a known bug of the Clio IV.
