Using the Various Charging Systems of the Renault Zoe

Let's see how to charge the Renault Zoe: it is equipped with a combined connector that supports both alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC) charging. In the boot, there are charging cables: the one with the type 2 plug is the most common for everyday use and is used for domestic wallboxes and standard public charging points. The charging cable B (with a Schuko plug) is for regular household sockets, a slower charging method to use when no other options are available. The vehicle must be switched off and the handbrake engaged. Open the flap, connect the cable first to the charging point and then to the vehicle. Indicator lights will illuminate: the yellow light indicates a check is in progress between the vehicle and the charging point; flashing blue: charging in progress. Steady green: charging completed. Steady red: malfunction. During charging, the cable locks automatically to prevent disconnection, and you can monitor the charging progress from the instrument panel. For rapid DC charging, open the smaller flap and use the heavy cable attached to the charging point, not your personal cables. To disconnect the cable, press the release button on the remote, then you have 30 seconds to physically release the cable from the car, pull the cable to remove it, close the flaps, disconnect the cable from the charging point or socket, and store the cable in the boot.
