How to Change the Engine Oil and Filter on a Renault Clio

To replace the engine oil and filter on a Renault Clio 5, start the engine for a few minutes to slightly warm the oil, then turn off the vehicle and safely lift it. Position a container under the oil sump and unscrew the drain plug to allow the old lubricant to fully drain. Once the draining is complete, locate the oil filter and remove it with an appropriate spanner, being careful of any residual oil. Before installing the new filter, apply a thin layer of clean oil to the seal and screw it on without over-tightening. Re-screw the sump plug, lower the vehicle, and pour the new oil through the upper filler neck, respecting the quantity specified for the installed engine. Then start the engine for a few seconds, check for any leaks, and verify the oil level, topping up if necessary.
