How to Change the EGR Valve on a Renault Captur MK1

In this video, we can see how to change the EGR valve on the Renault Captur MK1: you will need to disconnect a coolant pipe, so collect the fluid that will come out, and then restore the level once the work is finished. To access the valve, disconnect the electrical connector from the mass airflow sensor. Remove the air pipe between the filter and the turbo, take off the turbo air duct by unscrewing the securing nut and disconnecting the base pipe. From under the car, unscrew the two lower nuts, and now you can see the valve. Disconnect the electrical connector, unscrew the 3 bolts, and the two coolant pipes (collecting the fluid that will come out). At this point comes the most difficult part, removing the valve which will be caked with soot: use some penetrating fluid and assist with a wooden wedge. Clean the EGR inlet pipe thoroughly and replace the valve, which you might find on Amazon with the code B07DNHSGBG for £48.45 plus £11.00 for delivery. Reconnect the pipes, screw in the bolts, reconnect the electrical connector, and reassemble the gas inlet pipe. Now proceed to reassemble all the components you removed earlier: turbo air duct, breather turbo, air pipe with its clips. Refill the coolant level in the expansion tank and start the engine: the engine warning light will come on and you will need to reset the errors with an OBD2 tool.
