Let’s see how cruise control and the speed limiter work on a Renault Captur. The controls are found on a lever or dedicated buttons. The purpose of the speed limiter is to set a maximum speed that the car will not exceed, even if you press the accelerator fully. It is useful in areas with variable limits to avoid fines. Press the "lim" button, set the speed, and press the "set" button, and that speed will become your maximum limit. To vary it, press "set+" or "set-" briefly. To temporarily exceed the limit (for overtaking, for example), press the accelerator fully beyond the resistance point, then it will return to its limit. To suspend, press "cancel" to resume with "res" or "set"; to deactivate, press "lim" again. The cruise control, on the other hand, automatically maintains the set speed, freeing you from having to keep your foot on the accelerator. It is ideal on motorways and for long distances. To activate it, press the "cruise" button; set the speed, which can be varied with "set+" and "set-". You can temporarily suspend it by pressing the brake or the "cancel" button, and resume the memorised speed by pressing "res". Pressing "cruise" again will deactivate the function.
