How to disengage the electric handbrake without starting the Renault Captur?

To disengage the automatic handbrake on the Renault Captur when it is off (even with a flat battery), note that when you turn off the car, the electronic handbrake activates. To disengage the handbrake, turn off the car if it is not already off by pressing the button with the gear engaged, open the driver's door, press the brake pedal, turn on the ignition by pressing the button (ensure the gear is engaged, otherwise if in neutral, the car will start), press down on the handbrake button. You will notice that the red warning light turns off the first time but then comes back on, so press it again and you will see the red light turn off, indicating that the handbrake is disengaged. At this point, you can turn off the ignition and the car will have released the handbrake. If you want to move the car, you must put the gear in neutral with the car off. To reactivate the electronic handbrake, with the car on, press the handbrake button upwards and the handbrake will be engaged.
