This explains how the emergency call works on the Renault Captur, specifically the SOS button located on the ceiling light. When the icons are lit green, it means the network is available and functioning; when they are off, the system is not operational. If they light up red, it indicates a fault in the system that needs to be checked. The SOS button flashes while a call is in progress, whether automatic or manual. For the automatic function, if the vehicle has an accident, the call is made automatically (for example, when the airbags deploy or there is significant tension on the seat belts). The manual function is activated by pressing the button for three seconds (or pressing it repeatedly). To cancel a call, press the button for two seconds, and the light will stop flashing.
