Replacing Rear Brake Shoes

Model: Renault Clio Clio 2, MK 2 - Years 1998-2005
Part: Brake drums and shoes

Loosen the wheel retaining bolts before lifting the vehicle and placing it on suitable axle stands, engaging first gear and releasing the handbrake; complete the wheel removal, take off the protective cap at the centre of the hub, and unscrew the underlying nut to remove the drum (you may need to use a suitable puller); remove the spring clips that hold the shoes, detach the springs, and take out the old shoes; seal the brake fluid reservoir cap to prevent fluid spillage during the removal of the cylinder; then disconnect the oil pipe from the cylinder and remove the cylinder itself; clean the mounting area thoroughly and proceed in reverse order to install the new cylinder and the new brake shoe kit, ensuring not to dislodge the springs; finally, apply the clips and install the drum.
