How to Bypass the Immobiliser on the Renault Clio 1500 tdCi
Model: Renault Clio
Clio 2, MK 2
- Years 1998-2005
If, when turning on the ignition, the LED in the centre of the instrument cluster flashes continuously, it means that the engine management ECU has not recognised the ignition key, i.e., the immobiliser, and therefore will not allow the engine to start; there is a procedure to follow with the key itself to bypass the key recognition and allow starting:
- Position the ignition key in the second position; - Press and hold the button in the centre of the key; - While holding the button, turn the key to position 1 and then immediately to position 2; - At this point, the LED will turn off and it will be possible to start the engine.
