Video tutorial

The video in this article shows how to reset the maintenance light on a 2020 Renault Captur if it remains on after a service. To reset it, turn on the instrument panel without starting the engine.

Once the instrument panel is on, use the menu button on the steering wheel to scroll through the menu until you reach the car section, represented by the car icon. Once found, use the down arrow button to scroll through the menu until you locate the maintenance light or oil light.

Once identified, press and hold the OK button on the right side of the steering wheel to perform the reset. Hold it until it stops flashing with the indication of 24 months/30,000 kilometres.

You can then start the engine to check that the procedure was successful.

Replacing the Gear Knob on the Renault Espace

The following steps will show you how to remove and replace the gear knob of the manual gearbox on the Renault Espace. First, get in the vehicle and start by removing the small upper cover of the knob; to remove it, simply pull the gear knob upwards with force to detach it from the lever, as shown in the video. At this point, remove and replace the gear gaiter if necessary, installing the new one; finally, insert the new gear knob, securing it properly onto the lever (ensure there is no play between the lever and the knob).
