How to drive with Renault's EDC automatic gearbox
Model: Renault Renault Various
In this video we see how to drive with the automatic EDC gearbox of Renault: it is a dual-clutch gearbox, so smooth driving and much shorter gear change times compared to a normal automatic gearbox. There are two coaxial shafts connected to two different clutches, one with even gears and one with odd gears. They rotate simultaneously, but only one transmits power, and in very short times. When driving for the first time with an automatic gearbox, we should keep our left foot as close as possible to the seat, because we would instinctively want to brake with our left foot, and we would make crazy sudden stops. When starting the engine, the "P" for parking lights up, and to move we must follow the arrows on the gearbox. Once in "Drive" mode, the software will do everything by itself. If instead we want to change gears ourselves, we will have to move to the right and adjust the gears by moving to +/- .
