Cylinder Head Bolt Replacement

Model: Saab 9 5 Ys3e, MK 1 - Years 1997-2010
Part: Engine

When removing the cylinder head to replace the gasket, it is preferable to use a new set of bolts to secure it; before doing so, re-thread the bolt holes using a tap of the appropriate diameter and thread pitch, taking care not to let shavings fall into the cylinders. At this point, place the new gasket, the cylinder head, and use the new bolt kit applying grease to the tip of the thread and under the head: then use a torque wrench and a calibrated wrench to tighten the bolts following a cross pattern.
