In this video, we can see where the central locking module of the Seat Altea is located: it is behind the glove compartment, on the right side of the vehicle, well protected in a compartment with plastic walls. If this module malfunctions, the doors will lock and can only be opened from the inside using the handle, while the remote control or the key will not work.

The causes may include a "C" spring inside that tends to come out of its seat, preventing the synchronized movement of the cylinders, or wear of the motors. It is also important not to overlook any buzzing or metallic clicking sounds when the central locking is activated, as there may be lubrication issues with the locking mechanisms.
