Let's see how to repair the fuel filler cap on a Seat Leon: it remains in the "unlocked" position even when the car is locked. The cause is almost always a fault in the locking motor, which is a small electric actuator.

You can find it on Amazon with the code B0DM617W5W for £23.75, with free delivery in 2 days for Prime customers. The motor is not located behind the cap, but inside the boot.

You need to remove a side panel on the side where the cap is located, usually held by a clip. After removing the cover, you need to remove a screw to unlock the mechanism.

Once removed, disconnect the electrical connector, replace the component, and reassemble everything in reverse order. Before refitting the panels, check that everything works properly.
