Replacing the brake pads is certainly a DIY maintenance task, but you must pay close attention as brakes are a fundamental safety device. If possible, lift the vehicle on a ramp; otherwise, use appropriate axle stands. Remove the rear wheel and the retaining pins of the brake caliper to extract the old pads. At this point, use the appropriate tool to rotate and retract the caliper piston. Finally, insert the new sliding plates into the caliper support, fit the new pads, and reassemble the caliper.
