How to adjust the handbrake of the Skoda Fabia

Let's see how to adjust the handbrake on a Skoda Fabia: we will need a 10mm fixed wrench and a flathead screwdriver. Put the car in gear (or put it in "P" if it's an automatic transmission). Pull up the handbrake, locate the central console between the two front seats and pull it upwards firmly; it will detach from its position revealing the handbrake adjustment mechanism. Look at the two cables going to the rear wheels, and in the center, a adjusting nut. With the 10mm wrench, tighten the nut by turning it clockwise, in small increments (a sixth of a turn at a time). After each small adjustment, lower the handbrake lever and test it: the goal is to have a firm grip between the 3rd and 4th click. Once the adjustment is achieved, make sure that when the handbrake is lowered, the wheels spin freely, without dragging; put the central console back in place until it clicks into position.
