The procedure to unlock the automatic gearbox of a Skoda Octavia RS with the DSC or Tiptronic automatic gearbox depends on the specific situation: If the car does not start and you need to move it, lift the mat covering the lever and press the lock release with a thin tool; while holding it down, move the lever from "P" to "N". If the vehicle is running and the lever does not unlock, press the release button on the lever (on the side) and pull it towards "D" or "R". If it still does not unlock, turn off the engine and try again. The most common cause of the lock is a flat battery or a blown fuse in the electronic gearbox system.
