How to Change the Diesel Filter on a Skoda Fabia II Diesel

Let's see how to replace the diesel filter on a Skoda Fabia II diesel: open the bonnet and remove the cover of the engine block. Disconnect the pipes by pressing the two ends of the retaining ring to unlock it and then slide it along the pipe; then gently remove it from the pipe using a flat screwdriver. Position the pipes upwards to prevent diesel from spilling, then place a container under the filter and remove it from its housing; dispose of it along with the liquid it releases at an authorised centre. Insert the new filter element into its housing, pushing downwards, taking care of the orientation. This car does not have an integrated priming pump, so the filter must be filled manually, or the car will not start: immerse the inlet pipe of the pump in a container with clean diesel and repeatedly press the manual priming pump until the filter is full. Now reconnect the pipes and secure the retaining rings. Replace the engine cover and start the engine, leaving it running for a few minutes to ensure there are no leaks.
