To replace the headlight bulb on the Smart Forfour, loosen the screws that secure the inner wheel arch cover corresponding to the bulb to be replaced: once this panel is removed, you can disconnect the connector and extract the bulb from its housing. The new bulb can now be positioned to ensure it is properly secured and connected: then, refit the wheel arch cover by securing it with the screws and check that everything functions correctly.
