See how to remove and replace the engine air filter on a Smart Fortwo. Open and lift the rear hatch (where the engine is located), securing it. Remove the engine soundproofing panel, then open the air kit (unscrew the securing screws or unclip the clips), uncover the filter box cap and extract the air filter. Insert the new filter into the dedicated housing (ensuring it fits snugly around the edges). Finally, refit the air box cap and tighten the screws. Close the engine compartment and the rear hatch at the end of maintenance.
