Replacing Key Battery on Smart Fortwo 451

Today, you will learn how to open the key remote and replace the internal battery of a Smart Fortwo 451; this operation is very simple and does not require special tools. First, take your remote and use a lever to open it into two parts, inserting the tool into the gap in the middle: then access the battery and remove it by prying it out. At this point, insert the new battery of the correct type (usually a 2032), and close the two plastic shells by snapping them together: watch the video until the end!
